VOLUNTEERING

Interests: Volunteer Work

DUKE INSTITUTE FOR HEALTH INNOVATION

DIHI is an interdisciplinary organization that works with healthcare providers to provide data-driven solutions. I volunteered on a project to develop early warning system for severe maternal morbidity at Duke Hospital. My contribution focused on data wrangling and exploratory data analysis.

AREA 27 FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION

The FIRST Robotics Competitions is focused on inspiring K-12 students to pursue STEM fields, helping them develop skills in engineering and design. I worked with a team of smart and diverse high school students who worked on building a robot that could traverse the competition arena, score goals and defend other robots in the team. I  mentored the students in design thinking, problem solving techniques, designing and project management.

DUKE INTERDISCIPLINARY SOCIAL INNOVATORS

DISI is an organization within Duke University that pairs students with external organizations with a specific problem. We volunteer as consultants to provide solutions. I worked with Durham Public Schools, Habitat for Humanity and Environmental Affairs Board for the City of Durham on different projects. Each experience was a unique challenge and helped hone my problem-solving skills while giving back to the local community
